School Description
Located on a beautifully landscaped campus in the heart of one of the South's largest and most progressive cities, the University of Memphis (U of M) is the flagship institution of the Tennessee Board of Regents System.

Since its beginning in 1912, the University of Memphis has matured into a major public, metropolitan university recognized regionally and nationally for its academic, research, and athletic programs. The university offers more than 254 areas of study from which to choose.

With a long history of academic excellence, the university's Journalism and Public Relations department, Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI), Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, Loewenberg School of Nursing, FedEx Institute of Technology, School of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology have all garnered national renown for academic achievement and excellence.

U of M has traditionally attracted many of its undergraduate students from the West Tennessee area, though today students enroll from around the world. Graduate students have traditionally come from a variety of universities across the globe.
